fLat tiRe, lOst GlasSes, PriCeLeSs!!

On Sunday we headed out to a little secluded lake that only a few know about... it is our aunts homestead, and we had a great time there with family. i imagined it being a fun place to grow up, swimming in summer, and skating in winter. this picture is the view from the living room, how relaxing.
okay, now the goal was to get a boat into the lake to use the fish finder to find out how deep it was, so they brought the boat and we drove around the lake looking for a place to launch the boat, as there is no formal place, but we would create one if we had to. i was feeling rather stressed by this, i really am not as adventurous as i thought, i really do have a far to creative imagination of what could go wrong, however a flat tire was not one of those creations... so we found a rather narrow opening between the trees so the attempt to back the truck and trailer with the boat down the hill (about 120'), seemed far to exciting for the men not to attempt at least once (or half a dozen times)... so off they went. i stood at the top of the hill and tried not to look. a couple seconds into the process we heard some trees snapping, and some funny sounds and up the hill they came, completely flat was the tire on the boat trailer, so they fixed that and off they were again. this times they got it down the hill and into the water, and we stood to the side hoping not to be in the way. But of course the trailer just hit the water and sunk in the sand/mud, not good, but those guys get a big A+ for not giving up, they tried all sorts of angles and nope it just sunk and then pushed the sand/mud... so back up the hill and back to the yard site we went. so once there they were off again, not about to give up on getting this boat into the water. so they did find a spot off the road/driveway that had been washed out, and of course it does not slope into the water but after a lot of pushing, (and dropping his sunglasses into the water which we didn't ever find) they got the boat in the water, and a little victory cheer followed!!!!



it was a great afternoon... one i hope to do again sometime!
