Mudroom Update... post continued

A few weeks ago I posted this pic...

..... yah no pic.....

Okay so here is the thing....that is where I left off with that post back in November, and then weird things happened to my blog... the blog roll disappeared, I cannot post pictures for nothing, then I got the food poisoning - it was not good - enough said....

And well I ran out of steam....

My pictures don't seem to do any of the work we have done justice - and well I think we are in the 3month "isn't this reno train stopping yet??"  and "can't we just hire someone to do that (for free)" mood... yup you get like that.

But Christmas is fast approaching and so is the fact that all my family is coming to stay with us!!

Soo I have renewed energy... and having our ensuite finished would be rather nice about now... like right now, yes please

what is the hold up??

A few drywall repairs - drywalling is not my speciality - never has been - you need big muscles for that work

Oh and the rather large detail that I cannot decide on a paint color, and tile pattern.

Bathrooms are tricky as there are a lot of fixtures to paint around, which makes a quick color swap later on not so appealing... so you kind of want to get the color right the first time before the fixtures are in so it is quick and easy painting!!

The floor tiles are a slate grey, I am pretty sure the shower will be 9x12 white tiles in a lattice pattern, and all fixtures are white.  Our pendants are black iron (I cannot wait to see those up - oh man I get crazy giddy like in Elf when he has syrup) and our vanity is reclaimed Douglas fir - natural - so a weathered grey brown

My options are a light grey paint color, a warm taupe grey, or white.... I need to decide by Saturday!!

Thoughts???

Okay and now for that pic I tried posting a month ago....

The mudroom before.... just a reminder

The mudroom now... much better

We went with the Ikea Hemmes cabinets again (I had them in my office in the last house - where they stayed - and since we liked them so much we decided they were the perfect size for this room - note: they have a ton of storage, one tip out hold 6 -12 pairs of my shoes - more shoes if they are summer shoes of course)

We replaced all the "interior" door hardware - hinges and door handles - the previous were brass and ceramic - to save a little $$ I sprayed all the hinges black with a paint plus primer spray paint - satin black, and the door handles are a black lever handle - new)

The slate grey floors are in - there was some stress - but that is a seriously long storey which involves my sweetie loading hundreds of pounds of slate tile - twice up hill both ways... no lie

The room isn't totally done, still some painting and decorating to do, but I have managed a couple Christmas decorations on the Hemmes - I am treating it like our mantle (no fireplace in this house)

Ok phew... sorry for the long post... I will try to keep up as long as this blog co-operates

Happy End of the week!!!

Oh hey, are you Christmas shopping this weekend? I plan to sip Sbucks while watching Christmas shoppers  - hey what can I say we don't have cable!!

I was thinking a really dark pewtery grey ...but you're the boss!

By the way, the new blog isn't wonky it's just boring white with rainbow coloured dots on top.
