the mistaken LOSTA LAPPER.. the series continues

So for Christmas this year (08) I received a beautiful Italian Easel from my darling husband and now I have been feeling this need to have a series of art that I can work on as I find it hard to decide what I am going to paint, however I always gravitate to trees and seem to find a way to paint them some new way. Thus far, there are two pieces in my series, but I have to say, the conversations with my littlest is certainly a far more entertaining series, and I think it gets more rave reviews then my actual art... so here is another "piece" in this series.

A - "Hey Mom have you seen the instructions to my losta lapper?"

me - "no, what is a losta lapper?" (as I give him the look, and for those that know me, you know what the look is and what it means, my brother is cringing as we speak)

A - "you know a loooost - a - lap - per" (as if he is spelling it out or something)

me - "seriously I have no idea what a losta lapper is"

A - "but mom you do, you know, cause remember the other day when we were at that kids house and he had that losta lapper!" (now his is giving me the look)

Now you have to understand soemthign about me...
Sometimes when you meet me on the street and I have this glazed look on my face and we talk and it seems like I am somewhere else... well that is because I have so much information retained in my head that something has to give.... however, I just happened to remember exactly what he was referring to, how I did I have no idea, it might be a little worrisome that I am thinking on his level... so my response was... "you mean a pterodactyl"

A - "yah, you know a losta lapper pterodactyl"

Like really, how could I have not known!!! although, he doesn't even have one and never has.

Hey Keri: Glad to see you back in the blogging world! I LOVE your converstations! I feel the same way and I should blog them too because I always say I should write them down cause they are hillarious and I don't remember them when I want too! Like the other day Riley asked me for a porridge cookie which is actually an oatmeal cookie! Such a little thing but still so cute and funny!
Thanks for the email by the way, yeah, Christmas was busy and we got the flu on New Year's Eve so it was quite a party! NOT!! Anyway, maybe next time we're out, oh, at Julie's wedding maybe we could hang out with you guys! Hope all continues to go well for you and good for you to get active! It's hard to get started but the outcome is worth it if you can stick with it!! All the best...
