Some of you know i work a lot and unfortunately sometimes not-so-important things get pushed to the side... well i had planned to do a little canning so i was preparing to do that, and well after looking at this pot in the fridge for a couple days... oh who am i kidding, a couple weeks, i thought i had best "deal" with it already! well i took the lid off and this is what i found... nope not a science experiment but i bet it would have been a fun one... i suppose i can call it an experiment in time management!! and what i learned from this experiment is... canning will not be a future experience anytime soon... and tomatoes even after being frozen and cooked thoroughly, still have "life" to them!! Really this is not a normal over site on my part... i am a use by expiry date kind of person, not a day longer... my mom was a food safety person and so my home motto is "is it worth it", that has kind of followed me, and a once very bad bout of food poisoning from a restaurant, has given me a high level of respect for food safety and expiry dates!!

i had five little boys living in my home for most of the week last week... one would think that would be insanity... surprisingly and pleasantly... it was a lot of fun, would be cool to be a mom of 5 boys!! oh make that 6 counting the big boy... they are all great kids!! and we babysat a little dog too.... fun times!! i even managed to get my Christmas Tree out and set up... no decorations on it yet - just the lights, but maybe this week!! we also managed to get the house lights up, and get a lot done in the basement... it looks so good... i will post pics as soon as i can... but right now... i have some work to do... cabins seem to be the theme of my week, people are looking forward to and planning for spring... me too!!
