so my absolutely wonderful husband and i went out for a date day on Wednesday, it was a bit of breakfast, Christmas shopping, fun shopping, coffee, lunch at this cute little bistro place, coffee, shopping, and then supper sort of kind of day!! So for lunch as pictured above... we discovered this place back in summer on our way to the fireworks show down by the river and thought hey that looks like our kinda place - reminded me a lot of the Market in North Van or one of the little cafe's in Kitsalano... i wish i could transport myself there today as i so could go for a crepe, but alas ... anyway this was a lot of fun. we sat amongst the wine and homemade jellies and something called "bananas" which the box described as a chocolate like cereal with chunks of banana - really - hmmmm must be baby food or "granola tree huggers" (no offence please) type persons who lives in the mountains and doesn't actually remember what it is like to eat a fresh banana and Divine fine chocolate... then the powdery stuff might suffice - but we are not up on a mountain... so hmmmm i suspect that might sit on the shelf for a while!! I suppose i should not knock something i have not tried... so anyway after lunch, which cost just over $30 bucks - ummm may not do lunch there again, but it was pretty good - i would recommend the soup, the panini was okay - mine had an odd flavour in it , sort of a rancid flavour, which we came to the conclusion came from the pistachio paste and the very yeasty panani bread - not a complimentive combo... but the wild tuna and apple panini was very yummy... and the wine was Delicious!! so then off to another bistro for coffee and dessert... wow what a tough life... we suspect this is what retirement will be like... just going from one fine bistro to another... hee hee (a walking track will need to be part of our day at some point otherwise scooters will also be in our future!!) yes retirement, it will be bliss... i highly recommend a date day to everyone, think of it as retirement practice!!

hee hee - this has really nothing to do with anything - but i thought i was cute!!

All Trevor talks about is retirement, which is why he loves birthdays so much, one more year closer to retirement! I guess that is a good way of looking at it.
