so thanks to ellisa's really cool green night stand inspiration i happened to come across this little cutie and saw the total potential... only $10 so i was like score. I really like the architectural elements it has... one thing i did not notice was the supper yucky smell i purchased as well... of course the smell was not noticeable in the thrift store due the whole store smelling that way (possible cigarette smoke)... so sadly the smell came home with us too... hence it is bunking on the front porch until it can be painted. I am thinking white, but grey, orange, blue, and I am a huge fan of green (but sadly this color love is not shared)
ohhhh perhaps a really dark aubergine... stay posted i will update soon!
on our routine trip to the shop to check on the trucks, we saw two of these sitting by the dumpster behind the shop and i thought - hey can i have those ?? or course you can says my totally cool husband... so one is at my parents getting all new wood slates made from our annex, i picked up a little gloss black paint and i am suspecting the finished product to look sooo good... so check back soon on that one too.
sorry i know that last two pics are of projects not yet completed so i thought i wold share one that is... i picked up some really nice outdoor solar lights - being that we are in the country, if someone pops by our yard is rather dark, so these little beauties will be lighting things up a little... i am very happy with how this project turned out. I put a light beside each shrub to help showcase them a little, and it looks really good... especially with the shrubs in full bloom
okay i must confess this project is not totally completed - see the black pot with the plant still in it - we just picked three of those up about two hours ago and so tomorrow they will be planted (three new ones - one was a warranty freebie as two died on me last year - so that was nice - the owner of the nursery didn't have to give me one free as it was over a year - but she did)
another project complete... our hand set went on us, and due to a rather unfortunate winter step out onto the deck to hang up a area carpet that needing some airing out, i closed the door behind me and could not get back in as the latch broke, so that door is permanently closed unless you open it from the inside - but i was outside, winter with no shoes or jacket... so now that it is spring i finally got around to replacing it... of course my sweat heart did the handy work of actually changing the handset (while i was working)... and now if you go outside you can actually get back in! oh and how did my adventure on the deck in winter turnout - thankfully sweat pea heard me knocking and came and let his chilly mama back in... thanks buddy!
