We have been away for a while...
This was our view last week... it was perfect
And this was our home for the week... it was perfect
All meals were prepared for us by our hosts (who live in the left wing of the Chalet - the lower section - we had the entire large Chalet to ourselves)
We also had the entire beach to ourselves... and lake for that matter (only three homes on this entire lake - it is huge, you can barely see the other side, and not at all in some areas)
Our little man loved the beach, we were hoping to get him on the knee board this trip, but pulling it up and down the beach was all he was interested in... who could blame him, the beach was lovely
the boys set up a "star wars" camp... the driftwood was worth $10 and it was their currency, they used the water noodles as their light-sabers (sp?) and somehow worked in a water fight to each battle
my sweets took our dads fishing... the first morning they came back with a huge fish storey of the "one that got away - and it was huge", so after new line was strung on the rods back out they went and they came back with three fish... who are now sleeping in my freezer awaiting a flour coating and a butter bath!
We tried so hard for a family picture, out of the 30 pictures we took, this is the best one, and we are all looking in different directions, you can only imagine what the others looked like - we are a bunch of photo goofs!
My sweets had a birthday while we were there and our hosts made him a wonderful cake , she only had 17 candles so this year he turned 17
Our parents played games and had a great time (they even stayed up later than us one night) playing dominos, ticket to ride and qwirkle were our favorites...
Pictured above is the game qwirkle, if you have never played, you really should, it is a great game for all ages (including young ones)
For the past couple days we have spent many moments talking about our trip and wishing we were there again, no phones, no internet, no work, lots of relaxation and family one on one time with no distractions
till next year!
