The Day We never went to Sleep...

It was a fabulous day...

The first grandchild graduated and she was also validictorian... this girl is lovely, smart, and talented

my little man and I enjoyed the ceremony while daddy and E zipped to the airport to pick up "two packages" from Toronto... aka his cousins - a huge surprise for our auntie during the after grad!

so this little man was my date to the Grad...

as soon as the ceremony had finished we were outta there... lots to do before all the guests arrived for the "After Tea"

I have many years yet till I will be planning my boys "Grad After Tea", but helping my sister-in-law through it I know that having someone other than the mother of the graduate tending to the food and drinks is a must.  There is also time for mingleing with other parents after the Grad so grabbing your graduate and heading home in a hurry before any guests arrive is no fun.  So by me zipping to their home and getting everything ready, this meant they were free to take their time and enjoy these moments (knowing someone is already at your home to welcome any early guests and have all the food and drinks ready is important)  I also had my other sister-in-law and our sweeties to help us out as well. As they were back from the airport with the "two packages"

The food was yummy in the tummy and yummy to the eye... I like pretty food....

There were homemade cake pops, veggie pizza, oreo cheesecake w/ strawberries on top, dinosours&fuzzy peach candies, fruit/watermelon & roll kuchen (which isn't pictured as it was already gone), layered dip & chips, cheese ball & crackers... and for the drinks there was coffee (which no one drank - why would you drink it hot when there is iced coffee in the house)... we had a dispensor of homemade lemonade, had a dispensor with water & lemon slices, and one of Iced coffee (I filled the iced coffee dispenser 3 times and used over 10 litres of milk... it was sooo good... i used the star.bucks lightly sweetened via packs - 6 boxes of it atleast) note: I make the via at home "more often than i should", however i never make mine as strong as it is instructed to. One packet makes two-three iced coffee for me and I half and half water & milk poured over ice w/ a straw... it is perfect on any day!

then there were gifts... this is what we purchased... and she fist pumped when she opened it... she really wanted this game (it has become our families modern day version of Rook - we purchased ours at toyrus for approx. $30 - a great game for all ages little to big)

and this guy has a special place in more than just one heart!  Thanks "A" for being so kind to my "a"
