Two Post Tuesday & Long Wknd Recap

Boys In The Pool...

We had a great morning this morning... we zipped to meet friends (my sister from different parents)

These two little munchkins tried the waterslide for the first time today and after their first slide my guy yelled "this is soooo much more fun" (then the pool that is)

Us gals visited and watched the boys burn off energy (well that was our hope anyway)

We really might be more like twins than just sisters... we have been mistaken for each other before - when I was thinner of course... hee hee

We both have boys the same ages - both of us experienced similar birth stories and thus both had c-sections for our second boys.  We are both OCD clean, we like coffee with cream/milk, we like good food, we both have husbands who will seriously talk your ears off (not), we luv caramel popcorn and food (oops did I mention food already), we laugh at the same crazy stuff, and are both coming to terms with having a parent diagnosed with cancer in the same week.  we just get it... it works and we have remained sister-friends through three major moves.  And although we don't live close... we still do

A Long Weekend Recap

We had a great weekend with a lot of stuff packed into a short amount of time

we took in the skateboard park three times

the boys got pretty daring as time went on & seeing what the other guys there could do certainly helped (some of those guys looked older then my sweets & I - it was fun to watch)

then it was refreshment time... mmmmm slurpee's - E got throat freeze as usual

then we were off to the lake - we tried two lakes in one day and I spent most of the afternoon floating on the tube in the bay while I napped - and the boys and my sweets fished... ahhhhh so relaxing

A milestone event is our E-man tried wake skating - he was so excited that he was brave enough to start out in the middle of the lake (way to go E)

And in the middle of it all we celebrated with coconut cheesecake & chocolate carrot cake

What would we tell our 20 year old selves now

University & $70 a month to live on might seem tough at the start but we learned a lot doing that and it helped us get where we are now... that dark little basement suite wouldn't be forever so keep dreaming BIG

Having Kids & travelling every week is tough and you will be very very tired... God is with you and you will blink and they will be big - and you can clean your house then (my need for a clean house all the time made raising active boys tough.  I am a "check that task off my list" kinda person, kids and baby weight take time and often not having something to check off for the day left me deflated, I see now that my expectations were unrealistic and I wish now I had spent more time taking pictures, reading stories and going to the park and could have forgotten about the dishes in my sink and food crumbs all over my floors).

Those oneida unity cutlery sets that you have on your wedding registry will be one of the best gifts you will receive... we still use them to this day as our everyday utensils.  No point to picking everyday and fancy dishes & cutlery - fancy just takes up more space - picking nice everyday was wise (who knew)

Being best friends is seriously the best ever & always thinking of the other first is key

Most of all God is center, always & forever

Happy Anniversary Sweets
