today is tuesday but i am drinking my tea out of mondays cup because i kinda missed monday altogether.
i think this past weekend is best summed up with three little words... what a blast
saturday was spent sipping gourmet coffee's while watching thee best volleyball ever.
my niece (wow this girl has got talent) was playing volleyball this past weekend and our hometown was hosting the championships. our girls won all their games to advance them through to the finals...they played so hard and won silver... so proud of them!
everyone at the games was cheering so loud and it was so hard not to get caught up in the spirit of it. there were kids wearing volleyball hats, faces were painted, many signs we created, and the chants and cheers were classic !!
it was so fun, and it reminded me a lot of my v-ball days... seriously watching them made me want to play again... it was contagious
my little man was promised a candy for every sign he made. so he made three... but he also went a step further and asked for spike hair and wore a bandanna (not sure where he gets these ideas but i love his spirit) so i searched my bathroom cabinet and came up with a sample bottle of some salon.selectives - which i am sure was older than the hills as we are not hair product kinda folk... so once i got the pump working on it i loaded his hair with hair spray and blow dried it into this beautiful spiky fan which all the ladies were asking to touch when we arrived at the gym - he sooo knows how to get attention. and for a bonus candy he wore my nieces warm up shirt as a cape... he was so cute

here he is with my niece (it's not hard to see that these two are related)

now for some of you the mention of gourmet coffee may have distracted you this whole time... well to indulge a little further into the details of that said coffee... if your in the area and the "cafe" is open you must stop by and check it out. i am a huge fan of the s.bucks pumpkin spice latte - but seriously the one they serve up here is even better (i really did not think it possible), i also tried their caramel machiatto and it was equally as good.
why was i drinking so many coffee ??
last night was our very first ladies night out at the cafe'... we reserved the whole place (a converted classroom on campus) to a cafe' where the most expensive drink is $3. so on saturday i was doing research !! hee hee
last night we had 21 ladies come out and we are hoping to make this a once a month kind of event... last night i tried the brown sugar spice latte and it was so yummy. a must try
Family Room Update
i have had this quick update on my list of "to do's" for a while now and i finally got around to it this past weekend.
Before (note the lamps)

After

And After Again

the black drum shades looked way better than the creamy white ones
a little history on the lamps -
they used to belong to my grandparents and i remember them sitting on their bedroom night stands with these gorgeous embellished red velvet lamp shades (which also matched their red velvet bedspread - my grandma had such classy taste) there were crystals that hung from the lamps and although the crystals have long been misplaced (prior to me owning them) i can still see them hanging there... i miss my grandparents when i see these lamps - ahhhh great memories
and for fun... who else has can say their lamps have a really nice bum ??

Happy monday-tuesday
