It was a fabulous year end for me... i worked right up to the day of Christmas... literally i had client meetings and then hosted a diner for my whole family, took in the candle light service at church, and hosted my out of town family which included my brother - cleverly named - "silly uncle" as he is just that... we opened many gifts - all of which were a surprise to me... i am not easy to surprise - i have a sixth sense about things - but this year was a surprise.
everything received and given was fabulous... i love it when you have Christmas and no one returns anything.
not to put the emphasis on gifts as we know that is not the primary focus - don't get me wrong...
i took a break... ahhhhhh i only worked two days and spend the rest of the holidays computer free... i needed it
i got to spend a lot of time with this guy.....

and this guy.....

and my sweets.... no pic though - and he knows why !!
lets just say he is not as camera shy as he is a camera comedian
we spent time making ginger bread houses & cookies - decorating them & eating them, tractor sled rides (aka pull us in on a sled or on the snowboard behind the tractor) snow was hard to come by this year - but we loved the temperatures and the fact that we could be outside for hours with no frozen noses or toes - lovely
a highlight was when all the grand kids brought their instruments and we sang songs at the farm... okay picture this
a seven year old on organ
a thirty-six year old on drums
a nine year & eight year old on djembe
a ten year old, eleven year old, fifteen year old, & a thirty-seven year old on guitar
a twelve year old on bass
a two year old & a four year old on shakers
and the rest of us singing... it was fabulous
my sweets also continued on with a solo on electric guitar and it was good
New Years
we had spent so many nights up to midnight and our little guys were starting to show signs of wear and tear i am telling you.... so sadly we did not make it all the way to midnight at the party we went to... but we made it close
new years we spent the day enjoying some good food... i made sushi and we oinked out on that i tell you... mmmmmm

well all of us but one.... the little man "doesn't do sushi" so he had KD

our oldest has almost mastered the chopsticks, but things do go flying now and then
on jan 2nd we spent the day in my dads wood working shop... i have so many ideas and projects in my brain - just never enough time to get to them (aka the kitchen tile - seriously i will explain why that is still on hold another day)
i have had a "rast" hack in my mind for sometime now... unfortunately i have never been a raving fan of the little dressers. yes i like that they double as our nightstands but when i purchased then five years ago they were supposed to be "temporary" until the ones i was hoping for became available in my price range. i have seen a couple "hacks" on the internet but to me they still look like a rast in fancy finishes... which work, but just not the look i was going for not just yet anyway.
so here is a prelude to what happened to them and we hope to put the finishing touches on them tonight. reveal photos hopefully tomorrow - fingers and toes crossed
