I have been thinking about a couple projects that i want to complete... and although the list is rather long... i have such fun in thinking about what i hope to accomplish as well as i find that when i look around my home i can see many projects i have already accomplished. I really enjoy my home , it is a good mix of modern farm-country modest charm that i think is just pleasant fresh and clean (due in part to my neeeeed to be tidy) In my kitchen one of my favorite accomplished projects hangs above our eating bar. I purchased the clock for $25 from Micheal's ($price$ after using a helpful flyer coupon - cha ching) I was looking for something iron and i have a keen habit of wanting what is not in style at the moment - oh but wait it will be eventually and then dozens and even hundreds of these clocks will be available for less than I paid for it - but alas the price i pay for trend setting - hee hee i am so modest (no really i am - i just had a moment there) anyway... when i brought it home i noticed in giant words written across the middle of the clock - MADE IN CHINA - in capitals no less... first i was upset with myself that i did not notice the "branding" ... which i will blame on shopping with two little men under 5 at the time - have you seen the size of those carts at Micheal's - yah try stuffing two kids and a clock in there... they were not happy... but oh well... i liked the clock way to much to return and not that the lure of making a return and re-shopping for an elusive clock that existed only in my head along with two little ones was not appealing - i broke off the cover (it had a clear bubble cover over top which would have caused glare anyway) and grabbed my paints and i painted it with a mixture of colors i liked... now advance to now - 5 years later and i still like the clock - glad i kept it - and although it renders teaching little ones how to tell time a tad bit difficult ... there is always the microwave and stove with a digital clock for that!

soon... more past & future project completion photos to come . . .

Clocks have been on my mind lately. They are essential to living, but you want them to be aesthetically pleasing. I need to start looking for one for above our fireplace, and for in the dinging room, on a budget of course. It is cool the way you made the clock your own, you would never have guessed it was any different.
