what i am thinking about today...

i must confess i actually think about this everyday... honestly i have four things that i think about constantly when i am not distracted by life... and one of those "things" is our bedroom. I found these pictures&items a while back and they are totally inspiring me and i wish i could incorporate them somehow into the design of the room...

this is calm... i am a big fan of this look... ahhhhh

this is what we have now... kinda boring... the rask nightstands have done their time and although i have seen them become very popular on lindsay&aubreys site (aubreyandlindsay.blogspot.com), i have had them for five years and i would like something bigger... the bed frame is half Ikea and half the mattress manufacturers creation... our mattress is custom made and sleeps so well, but it is time for a new one and the one thing i know for sure is that we will definitely be ordering from the same company again... only in a king size (i think - i flip flop between the two sizes)... means all new sheets & bedding... and i don't want our room to seem cramped by going up to a larger sized bed as there is a chaise lounge on the right...although... with that in mind and with me making the shift from the red to the greys in the kitchen dining room... i am thinking the chaise would look great in the living room which is open to the dining room... that means more room for a larger bed...larger nightstands... and maybe a tall boy with a smaller chair in the corner where the chaise sits now...and imagine exposed or white brick on the wall the headboard is one... the scoopy headboard has made art work purchases difficult, so with a linear headboard i could hang some great artwork!

this headboard is supper cool... we have a large grainry (sp?) annex in our backyard with this exact wood... we have started making other furniture out of it and it is beautiful tongue and grove Douglas fir... so i could make one of these!

saw this dresser yesterday on another one of the sites i check out... i love the detail in the top drawers... not sure where i would put it, but it is soooo cool!

we actually went browsing yesterday to see what we could find... we found kitchen dining chairs we liked... but no bed frames that were even close to what we were looking for... would love a bed with drawers underneath as we have no dressers... but i think those sort of went out when water beds we out... unless we are looking at one of those platform beds that sits really low to the floor - those have drawers but they are made of this material called "press board"... really, why press board... why can't it be something cool like solid walnut or some other solid material... but i want a high bed... why must i be so particular... just wait in about 3 years there will be a ton of these elusive beds on the market long after i have manufactured my own... i see my kitchen clock senario all over again... hee hee!

so alas that is what i am thinking about today...and everyday

okay, I too am a big fan of that bedroom... gorgeous! And oh do I wish I had an old barn to dismantle in my backyard... that's so great! And from your last post... I have never been to garden architecture but have heard rave reviews from my sister and mom... maybe I'll have to make a stop when we visit during the summer... without kids... of course :)
