Wednesday i had one of the bestest days!
my sweets surprised me with a day to myself. I had a meeting that morning with a client to finalize their kitchen design, cabinet material & finish, as well as counter tops (it was great - she is super to work with)
So after we finished up i thought i would zip over to home.sense as i had been eyeing a beautiful coverlet there for a couple weeks now (i know first mistake as things do not stick around there for long)...
but when i went through those double doors this is what greeted me! (sorry my camera is MIA again so the phone pics will have to do)
note back legs are still wrapped in the plastic from the store...
the last one is the view from the front door... now our house tends to be more linear and modern... however i am a romantic and antique girl at heart. I love details... anything with texture... embroidery gets me every time (now keep in mind - it still has to be classy, not just anything will do... like for example on tuesday when i spotted a whole bunch of macrame plant hangers at the mcc... i thought to myself... hey what if those make a come back someday?? ummm yeah... nope not for this girl... i was not tempted to purchase one at all!)
so the hutch cabinet, or whatever you call it... came home with me... and now i wonder... does it stay or should i keep looking? i do like how it goes with our walnut floors... and i also think a coat of paint on it could be a future project too someday if i tire of the current finish... but i wonder if the style contrasts the stainless steal fridge and the pictures in the background going downstairs (which could be moved really)... hmmmmm ... oh and did i mention it was 50% off... and as for that coverlet... gonzo, so i guess that will teach me!
oh and speaking of the mcc... i did pick up this little silver diddy for 50cents! (which you may recognise from the pics above)
i think she is sooo pretty (see the "texture")

My vote is to keep it. I really like it. The detail does match your floors so well. I don't think it goes against your decor at all. I think you have matched modern with romantic very well.
oh, I like it! great find! I'm all for mixing different styles of furniture together-- it makes things more interesting and adds texture. The color/finish goes so well with your floors-- it works for me! And I mean really... 50% off!! :)
