A Blank Piano Wall...

(Sorry today is more words than normal - but it is all good)

Around 7:00 last night four strong men descended upon my home
( 1 of them was my sweets)

And they took her away...

She looks like your average piano - but like Kelly.Ripa
this piano is surprisingly dense
(If you have ever watched Kelly&Micheal you know what that means)

Saying goodbye to our piano also meant saying goodbye
to the piano bench my dad made
(it was so pretty and rustic - sniffle sniffle)

Her she is all ready to go

Our floors are walnut - therefore rolling her down the hallway was not an option

But just in case she did drop or roll - I had multiple layers of carpets in the path she was taking

We are so Thankful to the guys who helped (Ron/Gil/Brent)
Thank you Thank you

The Piano successfully made it down the hall
past my glass office door (phew)
past the mirrored bi-folds (phew)
We have a couple marks on the floor & on the deck but nothing that catches our immediate attention

After the guys left with the piano I got to work cleaning up the carpets and I figured this was a good time to clean under the front door mat/carpet

Wow, check out how much our floors have faded - you can see that I have had two different sizes of carpets in front of the door over our few years here

Would I recommend our floor ?

Most definitely
We have it throughout most our main floor with exception to our mudroom and bath (those are tile) & our Living room (berber carpet)
This walnut floor has survived two little boys and being in
 our kitchen & dining room
it hides almost everything and it is super easy to keep clean
Note: when you go with a variegated wood it helps hide crumbs, dust, footprints & general life - wonderfully

It is a beautiful floor period (faded or not)

I do also recommend an under pad for your area carpets as some carpet backs can wear, buff and scratch (even if the backing is soft).
Plus this helps keep the carpet from sliding around

Anyway....

So now with the large piano gone (sniffle sniffle)
I have gained more space in my office (which I needed)

My goal this year has been to clean, organize and utilize space
 within our home well
Which also means using space and filling it with what you
 really use & need.
Because music is a large part of our lives & a piano for our boys is definitely used - we made
a space for a smaller piano elsewhere in our home

SideNote: I didn't grow up with musical instruments, and greatly wished for a piano - so I played piano vicariously through our Frank.Mills tape cassette - Music Box Dancer over & over again
that song was magic to me

The new owners of our Piano shared a picture of it last night
already in use

Awwww she is so cute

And as for the blank wall in my office

Do I go with "Deep Secret" (Dark Navy) or "Wheat Raffia" (a muted yellow/tan)

Benjamin Moore here I come....whoooaaaahhhaaaaaaaaaaaalalala
(sinister laugh with a bit a design flare at the end)

Have a great weekend

(note: my spellcheck crashed on me today - so sorry for any missed typos/spelling errors)

Smiles
