When they were all finished - we got the tour
It was wonderful to see how excited they were to show off their decorating skills (I remember being the same way as a kid )
It was also wonderful to see my boys using the same Christmas decorations that I used when I was a kid
These decorations are the only ones we had growing up - same ones every Christmas - sometimes my parents would buy a box of that crazy "static" silver tinsel - do you remember that stuff ... our family kitten would eventually eat a string of it after entertaining us for hours as it tried to win the battle of tinsel wrestling... ahhh good times....
I think the reason these decorations are so special is that my mom made all of them herself - hand stitched

My mom asked if we would each like to take one decoration home with us - so now this year a couple of these beautiful handmade decorations are on our tree and forever will be

Well we have certainly been busy getting ready for Christmas this week - we are still not done - are you??
The rest of this week will be busy with baking, sewing & crocheting - and work...
I am taking Christmas off this year - and taking time off means I actually need to get more done so that I can close my office for the week
I am also running out of time with my scarves; and since I have 9 more to make - this past weekend I had to come up with another plan... I will share those details with you a little later
