sorry no pictures on this post, i know i know, i like pictures too... next time
my mom would say i was 30 from day i was born, miss grown up, miss independent (did you think of the song as you read it too - yup me too) so i think somehow i expected that the boys would be like i was as a kid, which i think is unfair as i wish i had been more immature at times too - but not all the time.
today as i was coming back from the field a song came on the radio and i cranked it... and i thought to myself
'am i to old to be driving in a vehicle with the radio cranked, what would people think if they heard... would they think i needed to act my age'
and then i wondered if i will be 96 living in a home for the aged cranking my favorite song with the bass way up so that my knees rattle along with the dishes in the china cabinet? i kinda hope so
so if you see me cruising around with the bass a thumping (or my house for that matter), please don't judge me, i am just having a moment of immaturity !! moms need good clean immature moments i think
so whats playing in my stereo these days...
plumb, stevie nicks, coldplay, jennifer knapp (check out her song 'trinity' so cool), mike snow, jamiroguai, arcade fire, puff daddy, morcheeba, lady gaga, fiest, maroon 5, the verve, tracy chapman, collective soul, u2, sky, ac/dc (thunderstruck of course)... wow i certainly have an eclectic music style...
oh and also add the new Adele CD in there which i picked up last week - it is good, has a good beat, it is a pop cd but not all techno rappy at all which is different than what is usually on the radio these days with their horrible lyrics - am i the only one who has noticed the lyrics on the radio these days (wow that was an old person thing to say "these days", picture me shaking my cane at you while you read it) or is this just because my kids are getting older? so yeah generally some good music on her cd but i did find the lyrics are a little to tough on love for me... this girl clearly has had some issues in the relationship department, so yeah good cd but definitely not something to play for a pick-me-upper if your listening to the words
a couple other cd's that i have picked up this summer and i have been playing a lot are...
- the verve, a good cd has a real U2, Coldplay kind of feel to it, and who cannot like 'bittersweet symphony'.
- mike snow, this cd is definitely more techno/disco tech which i have always liked, (i have a thing for bass not sure why - isn't it ironic that i married a bass player) this cd has some good mixes on it and song number 10 is super cool, my boys really like this cd too, but note: there is a swear in one of the songs (you really have to listen for it) so i skip over that one when they are in the vehicle just in case their little ears figure it out someday(song #11 i think).
cd's on my list to get are...
rjd2 - no one seems to have it in stock
and i know i know don't judge me for this one but the latest christina agularia cd, have you ever heard 'I am' super cool song. i did find the cd once but it has a explicit lyric warning on it so i kept walking... yup i learned my lesson once before after purchasing a cd without a warning and the language was horrible... as clearly cruising around with my peeps with the bass pumped is maybe kinda questionable on the 'mom is cool' at her age scale, but cruising around with my peeps with a 'potty' mouthed song playing is not only irresponsible at my age but it is also 'this mom is totally distastefully so not cool' at any age on the mommy scale.
whatcha listening to lately?
