been pretty stressed out this past week "sorry about that" - i totally luv my job, just not the stress that comes from it some days. streeeeessss fulled up
but any hoooo
i needed to unwind so off to home.sense i went as a little home.sense never hurts anybody apparently. but you know maybe i was still to stressed/anxious from the previous day to fully embrace all the items that were there that day, as i was a little disappointed in the selection.
for example if you are big into the purples and greens and need a conversational piece this would be perfect for you... Ha Ha like really , who buys this stuff??

i tried to find something for our home, really i tried... but all i found was some illy coffee... which was a great find as we luv illy coffee (we used to go for illy down in yaletown all the time, mmmmmm so mellow & smooth, and it is very low in oil and acidity) if you ever have the chance, try it!

so i figured the trip was a bust (other than the illy find - note i am not a food purchaser at home.sense but this was something i just could not pass up, so i threw caution to the wind and took her to the till with me) but on the last aisle i spotted some wreaths for my front door, and although i already have one - it has seen way to may windy days and dust storms - and since my time is stretched pretty thin these days i thought it best i just purchase one for my fall front door decor and be done with it) but instead of a wreath i purchased this handsome fellow. (kinda reminded me of a modern twist on the dried wheat brooms that used to hang in everyones moms kitchen - sorry my grammer today is bed, really bad just ignore it)

i also had two of those pots sitting empty in the back yard so i filled them with clippings of my dried false sunflower (thus cleaning up a section of the flower bed - getting two projects done at once - wonderful) A-man loved helping me with this so i filled one pot and he filled the other and now they are sitting on either side of the front door looking sooooo fine.
hey did you notice the bench in part of the picture?
perhaps you better remember this? (consider this an update post on that bench)
now looks like this...

so i sent it to live with my dad a couple weeks, and he removed all the old boards, cut new ones out of our annex wood, put in new bolts and sent it back to me to be finished. I painted the metal a gloss black, and clear coated the boards with an outdoor varathane in a gloss (i typically like matte finishes but this wood looks so good glossy so i went for it) i am very happy with the way it turned out, just needs a couple outdoor cushions to finish it off. i like the little holes and character in the wood.

okay so that takes us to friday... well on friday i needed a brain break so a couple girls and i headed to do a little thrifty shopping... we checked out the mcc's in an area of town that i did not park in (not safe) and we walked, we figured we were safe in numbers (going alone was not an option). i was hoping to find a totally cool hutch for our basement, but nothing was to be found. but i did find this carved wooden plate for $3 (i might paint it yet - not sure)

i also found this coffee table for only $45 and thought it would look amazing painted white, or in a trendy space a fire engine red would be sooo fun - but the other girls laughed at me... apparently they did not see the potential that i saw (and it wasn't the first time that i've got a blank stare from someone when i said "this is soooo coool" - and probably not the last time either)

anyway, i will have to post about the rest of the day and our weekend adventures later as my pictures are taking forever to load... and seriously i have 37 houses on my plate right now and i feel a tad bit overwhelmed (i feel sleepy too) can you blame me??
have a fantastic day
