Weekend Recap...

It was a busy weekend filled with some pretty fun stuff

Seriously - hanging out with my "boys" ... when isn't it fun !!

Friday night I made Aloo Gobi for supper...

It was yummy
If you have a head of cauliflower and your not sure what to do with it
google Chef Micheal's Kitchen for the recipe Aloo Gobi

Did they like it ?

he ate it
he almost didn't like it
but he ate it
(note squishing it into a thin layer across your plate apparently makes it taste better)
errrrrrrrrr

After supper "K" went out to clear snow .... so I had twenty minutes to spare
hmmm what to do... what to do ????
I painted the living room
I had an idea or something going on in my head that said "you really should paint it"

Using the magic of "paint" I tried to sort of share the idea I had in my head
(it looks much nicer in my head - it really does)

sort of like this only with a full mantel across the room, the two lower shelves lowered to the height of the mantel, then picture stone above the mantel, armoires flanking each side of the fireplace & white moldings below to tie in with the dining room mill work... this isn't exactly how it looks in my head but you get the idea

hmmmmmmm....
yeah - now I have a new picture in my head
but hey it is just paint and this room needs to be repainted anyway so no harm done

the new picture in my head incorporates something like this

Saturday we were city folks - doing city stuff

Due to the crazy low temps my sweets was busy checking on trucks...
he is such a "bright" boy!

While he checked trucks we had some d.i.y. eye-candy to look at
check this out...
perhaps a tree house for squirrel's
(note: squirrel's became our theme for the afternoon)

we zipped to McDonalds (I had coupons)

this is where eye-candy, my "bright" husband & squirrel's come into our day - again

While ordering our snacks a rather "interesting" individual spotted my "bright" husband and this is how that went - in a rather loud share with the rest of the restaurant kinda voice

"you a firefighter"
no
pause.....
"you a construction worker"
no
pause....
"who do you work for man"
I work for no body
pause....
"so your a construction worker then"
then somehow being a football player came into it... it was awkward

we get our order taken
I go sit down as these types of "scenarios" make me nervous & uncomfortable

they forget our coffee
K goes back to counter to get it
crazy dude again still there and asking K lots of q's

me sitting at our table watching this & praying that we are not on the news later
(I have a great imagination)

I get K's attention & motion him back to our table as this guy has a really strange interest in chatting with my sweets

K gets his coffee and sits down and we all watch the guy stumble to his truck and make multiple attempts to get into his vehicle
K attempts to call it in - but we couldn't get his plate#

then this "fashionable lady" sits down by us and we wonder to ourselves if she decided one day to go shopping for those boots or did she happen to stumble across them in the store
what does a person's inner dialogue say when you find such boots

honestly the fir looked like a squirrel

ahhh city adventures - never dull !!

and when we drove past the trucks again about an hour later
that squirrel tree house was gone
someone had already picked it up for there own

Sunday we zipped out to my parents as this was waiting for me!

my new desk base...

I gave it two coats of white paint, lightly sanding in between coats

my Dad & K assembled and sanded the annex wood top
when they were done doing that I applied four coats during the afternoon of polycrylic in satin

and she is done...

the desk looks amazing
& I hope to have some pictures of it in my office real soon

Was your weekend as crazy I mean as fun & entertaining ??

Happy Monday

When I saw those boots, I thought "ey carumba!" those are bright. You couldn't pay me to wear those. I also had the same thoughts, what does one say to themselves when they see them and decide, yes I will purchase these.
