Office & Thrifting...

Friday we headed out to my parents to pick up the desk - yeah!!

My parents live close to a MCC, so while my sweetie & dad loaded the desk - I zipped over to the MCC for a quick look around

I spotted this fun little area (notice all the milk vases on the floor in a box - turns out 4 of them were donated there by my mom - I was wondering where those went!)

I also really liked these green depression glass vases

E came with me to the MCC and was so patient while I fiddled around with which vases to purchase till he told me this...

"mom I would just buy all the ones you think you might like because you know this is all for a good cause and if you find you don't need them all then just donate them back, they would like that"

wise words that boy has... so I bought 6 milk vases, 3 depression glass vases, and 1 depression glass candle holder dish thingy... for a grand total of $7.75

With the desk loaded up, thrift shopping complete, & supper in our bellies... we headed home

It has been so gloomy weather wise so waiting for a sunny day to take pics hasn't happened... so the grainy phone pics will have to do.... for now

I moved the preston chair into my office from the living room, added the milk vases to the side table and since my desk was a mess this morning - here is a corner of it!

Area carpet shopping on saturday proved disheartening - everyone has the same boring square carpets.  One place (the new one I had mentioned last week) suggested I have one made and the price was better than I thought on that - so likely I will go that route - I will keep you posted

My dad also cut a long length of annex board for a topper on my hemmes cabinets - it had a bit of a "wow" in the board so hence all the magazines stacked in that section - K also hung a mirror I had in storage for almost a year, it was nice to see it on the wall finally.... this area is not completely finished but it is starting to come together...
We also hung one of the chalk boards I painted (it just needs trim yet - and some chalk on it), we also hung one of my favorite pictures... it has a picture with in this picture...

You can see the lady sitting plucking chickens (or maybe they are turkeys)... my grandma had a large print of this chicken plucking picture when I was a child and I wish I had kept it (how was I to know I would miss it).... so when I was drawn to this picture years ago and was shocked & excited when I discovered the chicken lady picture in the picture... I did not hum&hah about that purchase one bit

The structure of the picture is beautiful and such a great addition to the office

As for the green depression vases they are hanging out with my depression glass grape bowl from my mom in the kitchen... I will try to include a pic of those in my next post

Happy Tuesday!
